INFORMATION SHARING SESSION ON THE NAMIBIAN RESEARCH CHAIR PROGRAMME

The National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST), is established under section 4 of the Research Science and Technology Act, Act No. 23, 2004 and is responsible for promoting, coordinating and developing Research, Science and Technology and Innovation in Namibia.

 

Background

In view of strengthening research capacity at Universities and Research Institutions in Namibia, the NCRST is initiating the Namibian Research Chair Programme (NRCP).  The NRCP is designed to promote research that produces tangible results that are aligned to the National development agenda. A key element of the NRCP is Capacity Development for Postgraduate students which is aligned with the NCRST’s KPA’s.

30 November 2016, at Safari Hotel & Conference Centre, Windhoek Namibia.

 

Focus Area of NCRP

 

The NCRST Research Chair Programme will run from 2017 to 2020 and will focus on the following priority areas:

·                Agriculture

·                Energy

·                Health

·                ICT

·                Water
