The National Commission on Research Science and Technology (NCRST) was established in accordance with Section 4 of the Research, Science and Technology Act, 2004 (Act 23 of 2004) to provide for the Promotion, Coordination and Development of Research Science and Technology (RSTI in Namibia. Also, NCRST was created to provide funding to R&D projects and programmes in Namibia and to provide scholarships and bursaries to further postgraduate research.
The NCRST as competent authority responsible for coordination and development of RSTI in
Namibia is inviting interested PhD researchers to submit research project proposals for funding. Funding is subject to an internal and external review process.
Purpose of the Calls
The 3rd NCRST National Call is aimed at Namibian students, enrolled or planning to enroll for full time PhD research at recognized institutions of higher learning within or outside Namibia.
The purpose of the research call is to provide opportunities for Namibian PhD Researchers to submit their research proposals related to Thematic Priority Areas as mentioned below, and as detailed in the National Programme for Research, Science, Technology and Innovation (NPRSTI).
