Description

Job Grading: Paterson B2
 
Primary purpose of position:To ensure cost efficient quoting and procurement of goods and services as well as the management of the stock.
 
Key Performance Areas:
  • Responsible for the procurement and maintenance of goods and services of the NCRST, including the negotiations of cash discounts on these.
  • Administer the entire procurement process, including but not limited to the collection, completion, submission and storage of necessary documentation.
  • Receive and verify invoices of good and services delivered.
  • Ensure that all aspects procured are adequately insured and handle all insurance claims
  • Reconcile all invoices to purchase orders and other supporting documents, and submits these for payment.
  • Follow up outstanding account enquiries.
  • Provide secretariat support to the internal tender committee meetings.
  • Update the computerized supplier master list on a regular basis.
  • Handle office correspondences and attend to all procurement related enquiries.
  • Co-ordinate annual stock-taking and perform asset verification across all offices and sites.
  • Maintain a good and traceable record keeping of all the procurement processes.
Minimum Qualification, Experience & Competence Requirement:
  • A Higher Certificate in Accounting, Economics or Logistics, and at least three (3) years relevant working experience in purchasing or procurement environment.
  • Basic accounting and administration skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Must be assertive, with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Must be analytical and able to work well with little supervision.
Employment Conditions:
  • This is a permanent appointment with a performance agreement.
